About FusedFormations
Some things can't be learned
by watching.
I built FusedFormations so you can learn code and electronics the way I did: by building something real and bringing it to life yourself.
Build
Real code on real hardware. An LED that blinks because you told it to.
Connect
Plug a board into your browser and start talking to it. See what others have made, then make it yours.
Learn
Every project teaches something you'll use in the next one.
Have fun
If it isn't fun, it isn't learning. Break things. Fix them. Show them off.
Who teaches
I'm Engels Ady, and I've worked in hands-on engineering education since 2014, when I started as a STEM exhibit facilitator at the MIT Museum. Since then I've founded a school robotics and electronics club, designed and taught a K–8 robotics program, coached VEX robotics teams from regional events to the VEX Robotics World Championship, and coached a school team to its first-ever Massachusetts state championship qualification.
I hold a degree in mathematics, and I build with the same tools I teach: microcontrollers like the Raspberry Pi Pico and ESP32, Python and C++, CAD in Tinkercad, Onshape, and Fusion 360, and 3D printing.
What you'll find here
A free code editor that runs entirely in your browser and talks directly to real microcontrollers like the Raspberry Pi Pico and ESP32 over a simple USB cable. There's nothing to install and no account to create. Open the editor and go.
For students who want to go further, there's private one-on-one engineering instruction, online or in your home, and programs for schools. Enrolled students also get the Build Guide, an AI assistant I added for the moments when your code won't run and you can't see why. I've been there many times myself.
Who it's for
The curious. Students meeting Python for the first time, hobbyists with a drawer full of parts, teachers who want their class building instead of just reading, and anyone who has ever taken something apart to see what was inside. If you have never written a line of code, you are in exactly the right place. That is who I write these projects for.
What you need to start
A browser and curiosity. You can open the editor and start writing MicroPython right now. When you are ready to see your code move things in the real world, all it takes is a small microcontroller board. Many of them cost less than lunch.
FusedFormations grew out of more than a decade of building and teaching. Along the way I learned from great teachers, books, tutorials, and the people who answer questions on forums late at night. This is my way of passing that on, one real project at a time.
